The TT Marshals’ Association was established in 1962 to promote the ? between the Marshals and the riders and teams.
The first Marshals were often Policemen and others ‘signed-on’ as Constables for the races and practices; this is why we still refer to ‘signing-on’ rather than ‘registering’ or anything similar.
In 2004 the company was formally incorporated with a Board of Directors consisting of three officers – Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Honorary Treasurer – and a number of other Directors.
All posts are voluntary with no payments made for the extra work these people put in over and above the normal Marshalling duties that most of them undertake.
