Every motor racing course needs marshals....
to help in case of an incident and the TT/MGP mountain course, although it is nearly 38 miles long, is no exception.
What's more, as it is impossible for Race Control ,based at the Grandstand in Douglas, to see the entire course, the Marshals must act as the 'eyes and ears' of the Clerk of the Course who has ultimate control over the event.
To achieve this, there must be a 'line of sight' around the entire course, ensuring no part of it could hide a broken-down bike or someone/something on the course.
This means we need more than 500 marshals for each and every Practice, Race or Parade!
